Wow! Week 8 already!
We have already surpassed the halfway point of the Training Plan. Who would have thought! Time flies when you’re having fun.
Results
There are just two short months left until the big day, and we already have intense weeks like this one. A total of 71.5 km, with today’s session covering a little more than 29 km.
I’ve moved on from running in the middle of the forests; I stick to what’s safe. I have a 13 km urban circuit that I keep looping. Many ups and downs, indeed! As seen, a total of 810m of ascent this week.
Today’s 29 km session was very tough, as it should be, and the pace was a bit disappointing: 5:46. I didn’t stop at any point. At this pace, I would complete the Marathon in 4 hours and 3 minutes. There’s little room for improvement. I don’t want to worry too much about the pace. Just accumulate kilometers, get to the race, and finish it. That’s it.
Feelings
Firstly: Physical condition. Injuries are respecting me. It’s also true that in short workouts, I don’t go crazy; I simply accumulate kilometers. There are warning signs, but they’re small. The most critical is my right knee, which complains with a background pain; my left calf suddenly loses strength—last week, I almost fell. And the most painful now is the blisters on the soles of my feet; my shoes have very worn-out insoles. I already have a second pair that I will use for the Marathon, but I won’t break them in until a month before. In summary: So far, so good!
Up to this point, I’ve managed to maintain consistency in all my workouts and stick to the session plan almost religiously.
Two more months to glory!
